Det svenska hardcore-bandet Refused har fått en liten, men ack så viktig roll i det kommande spelet Cyberpunk 2077 som släpps nästa år. Bandet har skrivit musiken till den fiktiva gruppen Samurai som leds av sångaren Johnny Silverhand.
Refused säger i ett uttalande på Facebook:
When CD Projekt Red approached us about writing music for Cyberpunk 2077, we jumped at the chance. Partly because of the challenge: to write music for a fictional band that was similar to Refused, but quite different at the same time, having the music and lyrics be shaped and determined by the feel, tone and plot of an outside narrative.
The timing was perfect, we had just finished WarMusic and were still in the zone songwriting-wise. Most importantly though, it seemed to us sort of like a 2019 version of when Cannibal Corpse was in ”Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”, in other words: very cool.
